Main Offenses
Family Separation
Family separation is a particularly bloodless way of describing ripping migrant children away from their families and putting them in detention centers, for the claimed purpose of deterring illegal immigration. Reporting indicates she personally signed off on the policy of separating families and intentionally hurting children for her own political gain. Like her Commander-in-Chief, she attempted to obfuscate the facts by claiming that her department would no longer ignore the law – despite the fact that no such law existed. Not only did she help create this policy, the Republicans controlled both the legislative branch that creates law and the executive
branch that enforces law.
Nielsen said the separations are warranted, and that she had no regrets about hurting the children.
Gassed a Migrant Caravan seeking asylum
Customs and Border patrol, a division of Nielsen’s DHS, gassed a group of asylum seekers at the border. As the photographic evidence of the incident shows, many in the group were women and children seeking a better life.
Transphobia
Agreed with Trump’s enactment of executive order 2018-06426, allowing creation of prejudiced policies against transgender people in military service.
Russian interference in elections
Like a good lackey, Nielsen covered for Trump regarding 2016 election interference by Russia. She did it again in 2018, against the expressed conclusions of other intelligence agencies and later, her own department.
Presidential Tweets
- Trump personally thanked her for her service as homeland sec.
- Trump gaslights about separation, and praises her efforts.
- Trump lies about Obama creating the separation policy, and tacitly admits he considered the policy as immigration deterrent.
